Several
years university level study of the French language followed by studies at the Amsterdam and Rotterdam Conservatoria.
10 years of private piano lessons.
Concerts in Holland and abroad. 2 CDs of folksongs in English, French, Italian, Neapolitan, Brazilian and Spanish.
My
classical repertoire ranges from German lieder (e.g. Schubert, Schumann, Wolf,
Mahler) to French lieder (Debussy, Fauré, Chausson, Poulenc, Reynaldo Hahn) to
English songs by Britten, Barber, Ireland, Quilter, Vaughan Williams, Elgar,
Purcell and Händel. I have a flexible voice that enables me to sing
in wide ranging styles varying from classical to folk to musicals (Weill, Bernstein) and
classic American Songbooks (Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Rogers
and Hammerstein etc.)
My
25 years experience in teaching/coaching includes:
Teaching all kinds of voices from beginners to performers in diverse styles
(classical, musical, pop, etc.)
Working with young people in groups (8 - 23 years of age)
Working with theatre groups as vocal coach
Working with actors as singing teacher/vocal coach
Coaching candidates preparing for
entrance exams to conservatoria
Working with people who suffer from vocal problems
Apart
from speaking Dutch I am also fluent in English, French and I am currently
studying Italian.
Furthermore
I am an accomplished pianist who sight reads well, I accompany students myself and
I
coach pianists who wish to learn how to accompany singers.
